The heart's hallway

I was lost in the heart's hallway,
The mournful melancholic doors—
Each promises an answer,
Each a beautiful lie.

Pondering by each turning,
Some of which,
Led to the flying stairway,
Covered in soft carpet,
Which long lost its colour.

Some led to the Valley,
Deeper than thought,
Fulfilled with emotion.
Held by the cliff of confusion.

Yet of all these,
None let to the exit,
Vague as a delusive dream,
Uncertain as the moonlight,
Floating between waves and ripples,

Negligible—
Like the raindrop amongst the seas,
Like the tears amongst the raindrops.
