At expense of

I should have told you: how
Your shirts overslept
Like the doves of day
Or the spectres of night—
Their avian qualities made
Bruises of the imbued sky

And leave you be,
Man! You have not slept
Easily on those baggy eyes.
From this shore to the next,
I have heard you snore
So dreadfully in tides.
