If only we could have it

If only we could have it
Focused on a silver tip
Dangled and dipped

To let cool—
Close the psalm
At its outlier and forget; to set free—

Stir and ignore
An unshaken soul—
The glossy eyes, the lidded lamp posts—

Dear shiny brittles

Clinging on every tail of every word
Invidious and malice; then
We could perhaps

AVOID IT
For another day.
