White words

White words—a disjointed hand—
Small voids of the universe
Uncharred and unmade. There was
No heat in the strokes infirm—
No great lure to link or mend.
An episode to sustain—
An article of defeat—
A clear offence—to he who
Wrote hard through copy machines,
And still the words part—like sand.
