Six metaphors

A poem is but a list
Of sweetest metaphors—

An abridged collection,
No doubt; a brief recount

Of elements most light,
Most precise; an outlook

That adventures even
Farther than the whisper

Of words left unuttered,
And so consumed wholly

By the prints of shadows;
A walk across white snow

States a certain chill, which
Takes over, threatens all

Lest all save the barest
Meaning is surrendered,

Securing only the
Better imitator;

Leaving the mind to read
The deconstruction ruin,

Whilst a newfound flicker
Learns to survive the cold.
