Mindbeast

Most of my time is spent
On the engineering of a capture
For the Mindbeast—light's trickery,
Which finds security in the obscure

And is infinitely shy; so the
Difficulty lies in the making
Of the hollow, the necessary material
For the Creature of the Void to be

Kept in captivity—too nihilistic
And it should cease to exist;
Too metaphysical and it should float
Into divinity. Which is why I have it

Domesticated under grey roof shingles
Aloof and demure—sturdy enough
To enclose the midnight howls
With all its sound and fury!
