Some said, the distance between the stony black floor
And the feet of a child, hanging from his
Father's throne, is

Rightly proportional
To the remaining years of his father's reign, 
Which is why good kings always cover

The cold tiles with velvet carpets
And keep themselves big—and their thrones bigger,
Taller than whispers, raising their stiff backs high 
Above common air, into the chairs of immortality.
