It was said that from the people, the merchants 
Emerged and proposed an acquisition most ancient

For those with vested interest: trading
For the support of the general public, including
The weak and the pauper—

Guardians of moral values, truest
Protectors of traditions

And so forth, for
The continuation of social stability and
Firmament of inherent classes—

The consensual allowance to be taken
And taken for granted, to be consecrated

For the power of currencies, 
Despite the great sadness—
For nothing—

Nothing, with no possible redemption
For the human condition.
