The perfect day

The perfect day would have been 
Quite OK 

Had the sedan poised itself 
With the right headlight 

Against the lower corner 
Of the French window 

Under the shady estate of 
The great, grey building 

As the engine stopped, 
But the soft purring 

Sound continued, 
Verifying dread.
