Prose poetry, poetry

Standing between prose
poetry and poetry, I find no middle ground:

here is an embattled ruin;
here is the sound.

The words fall—
tethered—and form;

the lines cut
through the tropes like glass.

Through and through
I walk, I sway—

when the night is made,
I do not stand—I do not fall.
