When I write next to my daughter
—dedicated to Cori

When I write
next to my daughter,
she would sometimes

cover up the words,
and ask me
to draw

outlines upon outlines
of her tiny little
ha-han-handsss;

and I would do it
without hesitation
no matter the diction

the middle-of-thoughts
the alliterations the
metres tercets rhythms

because it's
more
fun.
